SIFRDIGITAL Build your CV

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

This policy explains in plain language what we collect and what we do not, where your data is stored, and what rights you have over it. The principle the site was built on: your CV is yours, and it stays on your device unless you ask otherwise.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Sifr Digital, based in Doha, Qatar. For privacy matters: info@sifr-qr.com.

2. Your CV data

Everything you type into the editor — name, contact details, experience, education, photo — is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device and is not sent to our servers.

The PDF you upload to import an existing CV is read inside your browser by a library that runs locally; it is never uploaded to any server.

The "Clear" button erases this data permanently from your browser.

3. If you create an account

An account is entirely optional. When you create one we store:

  • Username and email address — to identify you and sign you in.
  • Your password, hashed one-way — we cannot read it, and the original text cannot be recovered from our database.
  • The CVs you choose to save — so you can open them from any device.
  • IP address and sign-in attempt times — solely to block intrusion attempts; deleted automatically after a day.

4. Cookies

  • Session cookie — created only after you sign in, and keeps you signed in. Required for accounts to work.
  • Local storage — holds your CV and preferences (language, dark mode). It is not a cookie and is never sent with requests.

5. Advertising and third parties

We may display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partner advertisers use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or see broader options at aboutads.info.

We also use Google Fonts for typography; these load from Google's servers and may record your IP address.

6. Artificial intelligence (optional)

If the "Improve with AI" feature is enabled during PDF import, only the extracted text is sent to the provider to be parsed and returned in structured form. The feature is disabled by default and runs only when you press it.

7. Your rights over your data

We honour these rights regardless of where you live:

  • Access — request a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Correction — edit your details from your account or write to us.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all your CVs; we act within thirty days, no questions asked.
  • Portability — export your CV as JSON, PDF or Word at any time; these are open formats you can open in any other tool.
  • Objection — opt out of personalised ads through the links above, or use the site without an account at all.

To exercise any of these, write to info@sifr-qr.com and we will reply within seven working days.

Content ownership: the text and data you write into your CV belong to you alone. We claim no rights over them, do not use them for training or analytics, and never sell them to anyone.

8. Children

The site is not directed at anyone under sixteen, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Security

The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored with a modern one-way hashing algorithm, and database access is restricted to the server. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply what is reasonable and standard.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update it and will change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced on the home page.
